- write a summary of the passage
Activities:
Reading
- The teacher distributes a set of handout containing a passage, a set of comprehension
- questions and a summary question.
- He tells the students that they are going to read a passage.
- The teacher may ask two or three students to read the passage aloud.
Comprehension
- Students are to answer a set of comprehension questions on the passage they have read.
- Whole class discussion is carried on later.
Summary
- Students are asked to look for and underline sentences that touch upon the effects of television on children or the bene?t it brings.
- They then are required to summarise these sentences, using the skills they have been exposed to in earlier classes.
- They are reminded to to stay well under the 130 words limit.
